CU*Answers Network Services Offers Router Upgrades at Special Pricing

CU*Answers Network Services (CNS) today announced a special upgrade program to address the announced Cisco end-of-life for 2800 series of network routers. The program includes special pricing and a trade in credit towards replacement routers.

Cisco has announced that the 2800-series of routers will reach end-of-life and will no longer be supported by Cisco as of October 31, 2016. Correspondingly, CU*Answers has also announced end-of-support for the same date. Special pricing has been secured with Cisco representing significant discounts on replacement 2911 and 4331 routers along with a trade-in credit for 2800s of between $250 and $350.

“This provides us the opportunity to flex the muscle of the cooperative through collective bargaining for discounts on goods,” explains David Wordhouse, VP Network Technologies. “Our network has 154 2800-series routers that are eligible for the upgrade program and trade in credit. The more credit unions that can commit to upgrading in 2016, the better price we get, so we need everyone to weigh in.”

Special pricing offers will be sent to each credit union by mid-January. For more information or to schedule a review, contact the CNS Team (netserv@cuanswers.com or ext. 266).
