CU*Answers, the 100% credit union-owned CUSO, is starting off the holiday season by giving back to the West Michigan Community. Staff at CU*Answers are participating in the annual food drive for Mel-Trotter Ministries, and collecting gifts to donate to Toys for Tots.
Mel-Trotter Ministries is a non-profit Grand Rapids based relief organization. They provide shelter, food, and medical assistance locally. Last year Mel-Trotter served 145,602 hot meals, which was an average of 399 meals per day.
Toys for Tots are a volunteer based organization that is organized by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Each year they collect new unwrapped toys nationwide, and distribute them to area children. CU*Answers continues to participate as a donation site for Toys for Tots, which benefits children in Kent County.
The staff at CU*Answers has started the season of giving strong. The food drive and collection of toys will be on going until December 15th.
