CU*SOUTH Hires Conversion Manager – Lavenda Jones

With over 8 years of experience converting credit unions to CU*BASE®, Lavenda Jones joins CU*SOUTH, a Credit Union Service Organization, and adds her personal, client-focused approach to what can often seem like a data-dominated conversion process. CU*SOUTH is proud to continually expand and meet additional demand from credit unions eager to upgrade their outdated core software with the fully-integrated CU*BASE solution.

“I first met Lavenda in May 2006 at a CU*BASE conversion in Portland, Maine,” says CEO Leo Vaulin. “I was impressed with her attention to detail, and her patience in making sure she was communicating clearly. In a technology organization, it’s important to have clear communication – no buzzwords or cryptic forms. We keep reminding ourselves that, while we see an average of 30 credit unions convert to CU*BASE each year, from our clients’ point-of-view, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Lavenda takes the time to explain every step of the process, and explore all of the options in designing a credit union’s new CU*BASE environment.”

“For many years, I have admired the CU*SOUTH team and the ways that they work together to better the industry,” says Jones. “They have a passion for serving credit unions and the drive to help these organizations succeed. I am honored and excited to join CU*SOUTH.”

Jones starts her CU*SOUTH career managing conversions at Louisiana Central CU in New Orleans and Chino FCU in Silver City, N.M.

“CU*SOUTH wants to make it easy for credit unions to implement their strategic objectives by converting to the industry-leading CU*BASE solution,” continues Vaulin. “Conversion is scary word for credit unions – I hear so many horror stories about past conversions. Our process involves partnering with credit unions at a departmental level, developing “CU*Experts” who are the subject-matter experts in each key area.”
