Xtend, Inc., the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based multi-owned cooperative CUSO, announced that it has added two credit unions to its ownership ranks. San Antonio, Florida-based San Antonio Citizen’s Federal Credit Union ($125M, 10,600 members) and Birmingham, Michigan-based Birmingham-Bloomfield Credit Union ($50M, 5,900 members) became the 59th and 60th owners of the CUSO respectively.
“To be honest, growing to the point where we had sixty owners in the cooperative seemed a million miles away when we formed the CUSO less than ten years ago,” says Xtend President Scott Collins. “This is really a testament to the Board of Directors, their vision that we could be something very different in our marketplace and our owners embracing a willingness to invest on their behalf and on behalf of their peers in the industry.”
Collins continued, “One of the things that I am most proud of is our ability to attract a wide variety of size and geography in our ownership. SACFCU is our first Florida-based owner and has been a great client in our network for more than a decade. Although BBCU is one of our newest partners, they are already plugging our branded services into their business plan for the coming year. But perhaps more than anything, each shares our belief that Xtend represents a solid long-term investment.”
