CU*Answers, the 100% credit union-owned, cooperative CUSO, announced a free Promise to Pay feature in its CU*BASE^® data processing software for credit unions to utilize with their most trusted members. Scott Page, EVP of CU*Answers said, “This is a bridge to a credit union’s other remote deposit capture solutions, but best of all is that members owning any type of technology can use the service. It’s even better than an ATM since members receive immediate credit for the funds.”

“We help credit unions track promises kept using a special tracking tool, and credit unions have a myriad of controls, limits and safeguards that they can set for the program. Members that have been granted Promise Deposit Privileges by their credit union simply log into online banking, promise to deposit a check, and receive instant deposit,” Page continued. “This service costs nothing to our credit unions, enables remote deposit capture for outstanding members who may still use feature phones, and gives credit unions the flexibility to reward their outstanding members who may have a difficult time making it to a branch.”

The CUSO added that the feature was added with its 13.0 release for its CU*BASE platform, and that all releases are provided at no cost to its credit unions.
