CU*Answers to Perform Critical Online Banking Security Upgrade

CU*Answers, data processor to nearly 200 credit unions nationwide, recently announced the upcoming security upgrade it will perform in its online banking site, It’s Me 247. The upgrade, which is scheduled for November 18, comes in the wake of recent news in the security community that security certificates that use SHA-1 encryption are at risk for cyber attacks. The upgrade will involve applying upgraded security certificates that feature much stronger security, including SHA-256 encryption, to better secure member connections in online banking. In light of the recent news that security certificates that use SHA-1 are more vulnerable to security breaches, Google’s Chrome browser will soon begin to flag SSL certificates that use SHA-1 as having security issues.
