CU*Answers, the 100% credit union-owned, cooperative CUSO, recently kicked off a new educational series for staff members spotlighting the 7 Cooperative Principles and their importance to the organization and credit unions. The series kicked off with a course on the first principle: Voluntary and Open Membership.
Esteban Camargo, content marketing manager at CU*Answers, led the course and said: “The 7 Cooperative Principles are critical to the success of every cooperative organization. They’re there guiding us along the path of offering needed services to the communities we belong to. My course focused on this first principle and on the Walking in the Members’ Shoes initiative here at CU*Answers, which encourages our teams to always keep in mind our credit unions and their members’ experiences when designing new products and services.”
Each cooperative principle will be featured over the coming weeks leading up to the CUSO’s June Leadership Conference, where credit unions from around the country will join CU*Answers to receive a report on the CUSO’s health, and learn where the organization will be going in the future.
