CU*Answers Publishes Business Continuity Plan for In-Network Credit Unions

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – February 10, 2015

On February 9, 2015, CU*Answers, a 100% credit union-owned CUSO, announced the availability of its 2015 Business Continuity Plan to in-network credit unions as a proactive measure to assist them in their vendor due diligence efforts. “Given today’s extended network, it is imperative that credit unions carefully assess their service providers’ business continuity programs, paying close attention to each vendor’s capabilities and capacity,” states Jim Lawrence, CBCP, Manager of Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption Services at CU*Answers.

In addition to the continuity and recovery plan, credit unions are provided supporting documentation detailing the results of recent recovery testing and high-availability rollover exercises as well as independent audit reports such as ACH processing and SSAE-16 (SOC 1, Type 2).

As part of their commitment to their network of over 200 credit union clients, CU*Answers provides professional education courses (classroom and web-based) to describe the planning and testing process as well as Business Continuity principles, standards, and best practices to assist the credit union in building a robust program of their own.
