CU*Answers Observes 4th Annual Continuity Awareness Day

On January 27, 2016, CU*Answers, a 100% credit union-owned CUSO, held its 4th annual corporate “Continuity Awareness Day” as part of their business continuity awareness and training program to help strengthen preparedness levels and sharpen incident response capabilities across all business units.

“On any given day, much of the attention is on technology and security; both critical components of success in any industry. But on this day, the focus is placed on people with an emphasis on teamwork and conditioning,” states Jim Lawrence, CBCP, Manager of Disaster Recovery and Business Resumption Services at CU*Answers. “Whether in business or in sailing, being prepared for and navigating through rough waters is a team sport. Knowing your unique role and collaborating together as one is required. On a successful team, nobody crosses the finish line alone.”

Business continuity awareness and training is a part of daily operations at CU*Answers from new employee orientation and regular employee education classes to high availability production rollover exercises and annual disaster recovery tests.

To help raise awareness and act as a reminder, employees were provided waterproof bags to protect mobile devices from water, dust, sand, and snow. Being prepared means being equipped and being alert.
