CU*Answers Enhances Courtesy Pay

CU*Answers, the 100% credit union-owned cooperative CUSO, has expanded the capabilities for Automated Non Returns (ANR) with its CU*BASE® core data processing system all the way to the teller line. Credit unions using Courtesy Pay now have the option of clearing checks at the teller line that will take the member into their non-return limit.

Per a representative at CU*Answers: “In a nutshell, you will activate a new configuration option that automatically adds the member’s negative balance limit, minus the fee, to the available balance calculation shown on the teller screen. That allows withdrawal transactions to be posted as usual via Teller, up to that member’s limit. Just like when a check is cleared or a debit card transaction is approved for a negative balance, the system will automatically charge your standard non-return fee at the same time.”
