With its PolicySwap and ExamShare websites, CU*Answers is helping to ease the compliance burden for its credit union clients. In order to assist credit unions with managing the numerous policies and regulations to which they are subject, CU*Answers created PolicySwap, a repository of close to two hundred policies and procedures from credit unions around the country. Using this site, credit unions can download policies that other credit unions have uploaded to the site and modify them for use with their own credit union.

In a discussion on the benefits of the PolicySwap site, CU*Answers compliance expert Jim Vilker remarked, “It really does save clients a lot of time because instead of creating a policy from scratch, they can take an existing policy that another credit union has derived and utilize that as a backbone for a policy that they can create for their own credit union.”

CU*Answers is also helping its clients manage compliance challenges with its ExamShare website, a forum in which credit unions in the cuasterisk.com network can share their examination experiences in order to help their credit union peers better prepare for their own examination. “What ExamShare does as far as the savings to the credit union is it gives them advanced notice of the types of things examiners might ask for. That way they can have the materials readily available when the examiner arrives, saving both parties time,” stated Vilker.
