CU*Answers Deploys New IBM POWER8 Server for Development Use

CU*Answers, the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based cooperative CUSO, announced that it recently migrated its core development environment to the latest IBM POWER8 server technology. The CUSO utilizes the POWER8 as its primary development engine for the CU*BASE® core data processing suite that is used by more than 250 credit unions nationally.

Scott Collins, the liaison to IBM and CUSO Vice President said: “Our strategy for development servers has typically been a three year rotation to the latest IBM server, but with the robust performance and reliability of the IBM POWERi server family, we are never forced into technology replacements that are not part of our Strategic Technology Plan. When the decision was made to expand our development environment as part of our 2016 plan, we worked closely with IBM to architect a solution that would meet our growing application development environment from a hardware and software standpoint.”

Collins concluded: “We are very pleased with our new IBM POWER8 server and the flexibility it gives us for development, testing and quality control. It once again validates why the POWERi technology is the foundation of our computing infrastructure.”
