CU*Answers Announces OFAC Automation

CU*Answers has recently added automated weekly OFAC scans for all credit union client using its CU*BASE® GOLD online solution. Prior to this change, credit unions were required to complete scans using a request within the CU*BASE GOLD application to ensure that they fulfilled due diligence obligations require by the Patriot Act under the program administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

While the CU*Answers application already automatically scanned the OFAC list when necessary, the new automated scan process removed the necessity for the credit unions to scan their entire membership as required by the Treasury Department. Effective February 1, 2013, CU*Answers began performing the scan routine for its online client credit unions weekly at no additional expense.
