CU*Answers and Chatter Yak! Approach Social Media with a Purpose

CU*Answers, a 100% credit union-owned CUSO, headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan recently sponsored two educational webinars on the topic of social media. Co-hosted by Deb Schaffer and Don Emmer of Chatter Yak!, a premier marketing and advertising CUSO, the training sessions covered the importance of approaching social media with a purpose and designing a strategy that will allow credit unions to reach members more effectively.

Deb Schaffer, Director of Business Development for Chatter Yak! said, “Done right, social media can increase a credit union’s brand awareness, grow a valuable fan base, and generate a generous revenue stream.” Schaffer warned though that like any marketing tool, an unfocused social media strategy won’t create the return on investment that might be hoped for.

“It’s not enough to have social media; credit unions must use those tools for a specific purpose,” added Don Emmer, Director of Sales for Chatter Yak!. “We’re here to assist credit unions in defining that purpose, designing a strategy, and applying appropriate tactics to achieve success.”

Scott Page, EVP at CU*Answers said, “We are grateful to have Chatter Yak! as an invested partner that understands the importance of social media options for credit unions. We are looking forward to other shared initiatives such as Chatter Yak’s High Intensity seminar that was also recently hosted at CU*Answers.” Playing on the power of partnership, the high intensity group experience offers a consultative type learning opportunity at an affordable collaborative group rate. Participants of High Intensity seminars should be prepared for a full day of learning, and leave with knowledge and tactical skills for meeting goals. Topics include marketing, culture, sales training, social media and compliance. To learn more about Chatter Yak!, contact Don Emmer, don@chatteryak.com or by phone at 920-376-6053.
