CU*Answers 5th Annual Continuity Awareness Day Observed

On January 25, 2017, CU*Answers, a 100% credit union-owned CUSO, held its 5th annual corporate “Continuity Awareness Day” as part of their business continuity awareness and training program to help strengthen preparedness levels and sharpen incident response capabilities across all business units.

“Now, more than ever before, establishing contact with members of your incident response team and key stakeholders quickly with clear information and instructions is crucial to an effective recovery,” said Jim Lawrence, CBCP, Manager of Business Continuity and Recovery Services at CU*Answers.

To further enhance communications, a new and improved Emergency Notification System (ENS) was implemented and tested on Continuity Awareness Day to familiarize staff with the capabilities of the tool as part of a simulated exercise.

Business continuity, along with cybersecurity awareness and training is an integrated part of normal daily operations at CU*Answers, beginning with the onboarding process for each new employee and continuing education classes and exercises for seasoned staff.
