CU*Answers Holds Records Management Education Course

CU*Answers held its first Records and Information Education Express webinar on Wednesday, May 18, 2016. Thirty-four clients signed up for this webinar, which provided an introduction to Records Management.

What is Records Management, why do you need it, and what are the elements of a compliant records management program were covered. Part 749 of the NCUA rules and regulations requires all federally insured credit unions to maintain a records preservation program. Credit unions benefit from these programs by ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, minimizing litigation risks, ensuring prompt and accurate retrieval of records for better decision making, and with disposing of records in the normal course of business according to the CU’s records retention schedule.
