WESCO Net, a Grand Rapids, MI-based leader in hosting and managed services for credit unions has selected Comcast Business to deploy a new fiber-wide area network with up to gigabit speeds.
The new network will interlink WESCO Net’s three data centers, providing redundancy for existing connections and support for advanced services such as cloud computing efforts, real time long distance data replication, and real time media support.
“We are very excited to be working with Comcast,” says Dave Wordhouse, VP Network Technologies. “They designed a high speed fiber network that met our requirements for site survivability, performance, and reliability. Our customers demand performance and the ability to enhance our communications redundancy and bandwidth capacity allows WESCO Net to offer new cloud computing initiatives, online data replication and archival at extremely competitive rates.”
The new network is scheduled to be activated by the end of 2010.
