Staff awareness training provided by CU*Answers

On February 17, 2020, CU*Answers will be presenting a unique form of staff awareness training for credit unions with a focus on resilience that blends cybersecurity with business continuity principles. The objective of the training session is to implement a common response process to potentially disruptive incidents across the organization, where all staff are better prepared to work together and recover more quickly, while minimizing the overall impact to operations.

“We are finding that many staff awareness programs focus heavily on prevention and detection and stop short of communicating the significance of an appropriate response,” states Jim Lawrence, VP of Business Continuity. “Response training, if provided, is usually reserved to the few who make up the Incident Response Team; typically, management and IT. By overlapping awareness and training efforts, we begin to fill the gap between detection and response and engage all staff during those critical moments when every minute counts.”

Staff awareness training is just one of the services that CU*Answers offers to help credit unions build and test improve their Business Continuity and Information Security programs.
