‘Spirit of CU*Answers’ Award Goes to VacationLand FCU

Grand Rapids, MI – August 1st, 2011
During its recent 20th Annual Leadership Conference and related events, CU*Answers honored Vacationland Federal Credit Union (15,400 members, $140M assets) of Sandusky, OH, its newly-created ‘Spirit of CU*Answers’ award.

According to the West Michigan provider of CU*BASE core data processing and other services, this new award was created to recognize a newly-converted client for excellence that exemplifies volunteerism, collaboration and cooperation, shows strong execution and performance and demonstrates the credit union spirit and provides industry inspiration.

VacationLand FCU converted to the CU*BASE processing system in October of 2009 and has shown tremendous initiative and community involvement, forming it s unique Change Agent Squad in July, 2010. The Change Agent Squad, or CAS, group uses a team of high school and college students to educate peers and the community about the difference between banks and credit unions. The credit union has taken extraordinary steps to establish presence in the community with the use of a mobile multi-media cube (the credit union Big experience) which is equipped to perform CU*BASE transactions, attends community outreach events and advocates financial literacy.
