First Asterisk Intelligence Week of 2019 concludes

Asterisk Intelligence, a data analytics team at CU*Answers, successfully concluded hosting their third educational event by the same name – Asterisk Intelligence Week. The week of training and strategy was held in mid-February and is a mix of on-site trainings and webinar discussions with central focus on data mining, data analytics, and database management. All sessions are free to participate in and the February event included over 30 participants.

A single day of on-site training focused on the analytical tools known as Dashboards within the CU*BASE® core. There are over 90 pre-built dashboard tools available today, each designed to enable a dynamic experience when reviewing and analyzing data. Participants left this course with information about relevant tools to apply to daily work in the areas of marketing, operations, finance, and fraud.

Two consecutive days of on-site training focused on custom data mining skills with a mix of lecture and hands-on workshop sessions. Participants left this course with one or more completed projects for use to run as regular reports.

The fourth and final day of the event included four special webinar sessions focusing on two topics. First, the web application, Analytics Booth, built as an external data warehouse for aggregating and displaying daily trending and analysis of product portfolio and financial data. Second, database administration strategies and tools available in CU*BASE, the core processing software offered by CU*Answers.

February’s event was the first of four in the 2019 calendar year with the next event scheduled for May and future events in August, and December this year. Interest remains high among credit unions interested in data and data analytics and the May event’s sessions are quickly becoming booked.
