eDOC Innovations took to the roads of Vermont during the first week of May to make its local community greener and cleaner. Vermont’s annual Green Up initiative draws 20,000 volunteers each year to clean up litter from 13,000 miles of Vermont roadside. It is the largest statewide volunteer event in Vermont and the only statewide Green Up day in the United States.
“Participating with local volunteers and organizations to make our community even more beautiful is not only fun, but it’s fulfilling too,” stated Jake McMahon, manager of market engagement at eDOC Innovations. “May brings warmer weather in Vermont, which makes it the perfect time to get outside and clean up the place we call home.”
As a CUSO, eDOC’s participation in the Green Up initiative aligns with the cooperative principle to be concerned for the local community. Together, volunteers across the state of Vermont clean up between 200-300 tons of litter annually.
