CUSO Fills Two Board Seats

CU*Answers, a 100% credit union-owned Cooperative, announced today that two credit union CEOs had been elected by their peers to serve a three-year term on the CUSO’s Board of Directors. Jeff Jorgensen (incumbent), CEO of Sioux Empire Federal CU in Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Linda Bodie, CEO of Element Federal Credit Union in Charleston, West Virginia, were both elected at the CU*Answers 2013 Annual Stockholders Meeting held on Wednesday, June 19th at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

At this year’s election the CUSO had four candidates vying for two open seats on the Board. Candidates were able to post a campaign message on a new website designed for this year’s election.  This election also introduced an electronic voting option that used solutions provided by partner organization eDOC Innovations, Inc. Feedback on this new channel was very positive, and 67% of all owners completed the e-voting registration process.

“I served as head of this year’s Nominating Committee, and we were so gratified to see the dedication and enthusiasm displayed by all of the candidates,” said Don Mills, CEO of Alpena Alcona Area CU and the 2013 CU*Answers Nominating Committee Chair. “The power of ownership is real at CU*Answers, thanks to the participation of all of its owners who are willing not only to serve, but to add their voice by voting.”
