Last fall, CU*NorthWest implemented big changes in the flexibility of ACH postings configurations. Credit unions can select from multiple posting times to control when their credits and debits are posted for the day, adding a layer of convenience to routine ACH processing.

Since then, the firm has quietly prepared for the September 23rd deadline set by the Fed to start receiving same day items via ACH. While there have not been any transactions to post, CU*NorthWest has used this time to prepare by testing and fine-tuning procedures.

CU*NorthWest is now actively reaching out to clients to ensure their configurations will be compliant with the new ACH rules. Clients were recently invited to a training held by audit and compliance experts which detailed all of the changes in process and what to expect when same day ACH files begin to be received. “We want to make sure there are no unknown variables for our clients as the same day ACH rollout approaches,” said Beth Evans of the Business Development team at CU*NorthWest.
