Cumberland County FCU preparing for new core server deployment

Grand Rapids, Michigan-based cooperative CUSO CU*Answers is working closely with Falmouth, Maine-based Cumberland County Federal Credit Union to prepare for the deployment of new IBM POWER9 core servers in early January. The servers will be deployed at the credit union’s main data center in Falmouth, and also at their disaster recovery data center at Site-Four (www.site-four.com) in Yankton, South Dakota.

Commenting on the upcoming deployment, Scott Collins. EVP of National Sales and Marketplace Relationships for CU*Answers said: “Cumberland County FCU does a tremendous job managing their data center and high availability environment, and this latest technology investment will help lay a solid foundation for them to continue with their effective in-house strategy for many years to come. From a partnership standpoint, they are always quick to beta test new operational tools and IBM operating system release upgrades for our extended enterprise, so our team is excited to help implement the same POWER9 technology we deployed for our SaaS infrastructure this fall.”

Collins also noted that the server project would be executed in a non-disruptive manner for the credit union operations. “We have executed scores of similar projects for CCFCU and their self-processing peers over the past fifteen years, and with each project we leverage the best practices processes that help reduce any down time.”
