CU*Answers, the 100% credit union-owned, data processing CUSO, recently updated the ‘Video of the Week’ email series, as part of an ongoing effort to refresh existing Client News emails. Delivered to CU*Answers clients at the beginning of each week, the ‘Video of the Week’ emails spotlight different Show Me the Steps resource videos relating to CU*BASE and various functions within the core software. These videos are generally marketed for credit union staff to share with their newer employees but can also serve as refreshers for employees who have been with the credit union for several years.

The ‘Video of the Week’ series initially began in 2016 and included a summary preceding a link to the video. As the series progressed, the summary was expanded to include statistics on the view count of the spotlight videos or, in the case of recently-published videos, an indication that this was a new addition to the Show Me the Steps video library. The updated 2020 template retains most of the elements that existed in previous iterations of the ‘Video of the Week’ emails, but utilizes a new, brightly-colored banner image and a ‘play button’ arrow icon on the link to the video itself – elements which CU*Answers Writing Team Communications Coordinator Andrew MacMillan hopes will serve to grab readers’ attention and direct them to click through to each week’s video.
