CU*Answers Enhances Third-party Vendor EFT Data Communications Network

On November 11, 2014, CU*Answers, a 100% credit union-owned CUSO, reached another milestone in an effort to improve availability of its third-party EFT vendor services network by upgrading data communications connectivity for member credit unions serviced by Vantiv.

As part of a major project to migrate each key ATM/Debit and Credit Card vendor into a highly-available network using technologies such as redundant MPLS with VPN backup solutions at both primary and secondary datacenters, CU*Answers is advancing their commitment to its client base of 200+ credit unions by building a more resilient network.

“We have been very pleased with the cooperation received from each participating vendor,” states Jim Lawrence, CBCP, Manager of Business Continuity and Recovery Services at CU*Answers. “Sharing the investment for the benefit of the service delivery channel (both upstream and downstream) is a win-win-win solution. Everyone benefits.”

Enhancing availability for the third-party EFT vendor network is just one of the many initiatives CU*Answers has planned for 2014 through 2016 to implement continuity and recovery strategies that address the demands of tomorrow’s network today.
