The CU*Answers Communi7y Crew held a bake sale on June 6th (D-Day) to raise funds for Mid-Michigan Honor Flight program. A fun spirited bidding war among internal teams bolstered by a generous company match raised over $7,000.
Melissa Fulgenzi, Senior Conversion Coordinator, who brought the idea to the Communi7y Crew and led the event said, “We have always had generous employees at CU*Answers and Xtend, along with a very supportive employer, but this far exceeded all expectations. We are now able to support sending seven veterans on an honor flight to Washington D.C.”
CEO Geoff Johnson added, “As a cooperative rooted in community values, we believe in honoring the sacrifices of our veterans by supporting meaningful initiatives like Honor Flights. These trips are a powerful way to show our gratitude and give veterans the recognition they so deeply deserve. Supporting this fundraiser is just one way we can give back to those who gave so much for our country.”
Mid-Michigan Honor Flight works to honor our Veterans by sending them to our nation’s memorials, with their costs covered by MM-HF. Visit https://www.midmichiganhonorflight.org/about to learn more, volunteer, or donate.
