CU*Answers is keeping fraud prevention high in its products and features with the latest ATM enhancement to aggregate ATM deposits in a single day for each member. This feature allows the credit unions to better mitigate the risk of a member making numerous small deposits in the same day or leaving empty envelopes in the machine and being able to walk away with immediate credit funds.

In addition, for funds released immediately, a log for this withdrawal is kept in case of a need to review what actually took place. These electronic holds are configurable by member and allows the credit union to only apply to higher risk accounts.

Throughout 2019, CU*Answers will continue to launch projects that will stop fraud before it happens with automated service denial mechanisms at the point of the transaction. Instead of waiting until someone is on a ‘watch’ list, the credit union will be able to keep the transaction from happening at all.
