CU*Answers Preparing Rollout of Credit Scores in Online Banking

Cooperative CUSO and core data processor, CU*Answers, is preparing to roll out the ability for its credit union partners to show their members’ credit score and credit score history in its robust home banking product It’s Me 247. This new functionality will be coming in the upcoming release to the core data processing system CU*BASE® in the April 15.0 release. Per the CUSO, the philosophy is to get more value from the information credit unions gather by sharing it with members and starting a conversation.

Credit unions will decide which scores will show, based on how long ago they were pulled, as well as how far back they want the scores history to go. Members who don’t have a recent score on file will instead see a message that encourages them to contact the credit union to find out more.

Per Geoff Johnson, COO at CU*Answers, “This feature is especially great for credit unions that run regular soft credit pulls to keep member credit scores up to date. Those credit unions have paid for credit scores, why not use them to get members’ attention, give them a bit of education and then tell them how they can use that score to build a loan just for them?” Currently a credit union on the CU*BASE system can look at members’ credit scores and credit score history via the CU*BASE Credit Score History dashboard.
