CU*Answers Offers VPN Connection to Core Data Processing Software

CU*Answers, a credit union service organization and data processor for over 200 credit unions nationwide, now offers its credit union clients another way to connect to CU*BASE®, its core data processing software. Now clients not only have the option of connecting to CU*BASE via the traditional private line connection (MPLS), but they also have the option of connecting via the Internet with a secure VPN connection. To safeguard data, encryption is used for both VPN and traditional MPLS connections. VPN offers clients both potential cost savings over MPLS as well as a quicker turnaround in getting new branches on CU*BASE. What’s more, it offers credit unions a more flexible connectivity solution that will help them ramp up their disaster-recovery strategies since it means having “individual connections to CU*BASE at multiple branches instead of a single connection at one branch that all the others share,” states Dave Wordhouse, CU*Answers VP of Network Technologies.
