On Sunday April 18th, CU*Answers conducted a routine rollover to their high-availability data center. Twice each year, the 100% credit union owned cooperative based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, tests their ability redirect CU*BASE core-processing from their primary production data center to their high-availability data center. Typically, the routine rollover occurs in a one-week period, however, this rollover will occur over a three-week period.
The High Availability (HA) strategy at CU*Answers is a core competency and focuses on 24-7 availability for core-processing products and services for their member credit unions depend on including the CU*BASE/GOLD and online/mobile banking platforms. Performing regular HA rollovers helps the cooperative to validate their procedures, train new recovery team members, and confirm their readiness and capabilities for those unexpected incidents when unplanned rollovers are necessary.
