CU*Answers announces update to alert communications for CU*BASE® GOLD releases

CU*Answers, the 100% credit union-owned data processing CUSO, recently outlined plans to update how communications for CU*BASE GOLD releases will be handled. Starting with the 17.03 Release to CU*BASE in March of 2017, the Writing Team began formatting all known issues with new CU*BASE releases into a single alert to avoid confusion for clients and to avoid delivering a high volume of emails. These release alerts were accompanied by a single client news email that coincided with the first issue posted. The release alert emails were designed with a proactive approach in mind, encouraging clients to refer to the alert post periodically, and to cut down on the volume of calls that the Client Services and Education team would receive.

Starting with the 18.10 release of CU*BASE, which is scheduled for October 2018, the CU*Answers Writing Team will be taking this proactive strategy one step further. As release alerts were previously posted alongside the first known release issue, these were typically not sent out until the Monday morning following a release. Going forward, however, the Writing Team will be posting release alerts and sending out the associated emails on the Friday prior to a release being implemented. This will provide clients with an additional ‘heads-up’ reminder, as well as allow for faster communication to clients, in the event that issues pop up early on the following Monday morning.
