CU*Answers announces new development in the works for protections against brute force BIN attacks

CU*Answers announced its EFT programming department will be implementing new card randomization features for all ATM/Debit/Credit cards. With brute force bin attacks on the rise, CU*Answers has committed to doing what they can to assist credit unions in making these attacks more difficult for hackers. In addition to card number randomization, credit unions can choose to randomize expiration dates; cards created in a certain month will no longer all need to expire at the same time in the future. For those credit unions not prepared to randomize all card numbers, CU*Answers is developing an additional option to randomize the card incrementation. A credit unions card numbers will not increment by the same number each time, but instead build up through the available card numbers by a different number every time a card is created in CU*BASE.

The EFT Programming team is working diligently to bring credit unions this new anti-fraud feature in the 21.10 release later this year.
