CU*Answers alert figures for first half of the 2019 calendar year

CU*Answers, the 100% credit union-owned, data processing CUSO, recently published the sixth month statistics for alert items posted between January 1 and June 30 of 2019. In total, CU*Answers posted 153 alert items – 77 of these were posted in Q1, and 76 were posted in Q2.

The average send rate for the first half of the year was 25.5 alerts per month. These alert totals only account for alerts posted by CU*Answers, and do not account for any alerts posted by CU*SOUTH, CU*NorthWest, or any Xtend Fraud Alerts.

For both Q1 and Q2 2019, instances of scheduled maintenance and notifications of unexpected issues within the network represented the largest portion of alerts posted. These alert categories maintained a relatively consistent volume with previous years. Q2 2019 also saw a large number of general info alerts and notifications of connectivity interruptions, slightly more so than in Q1 2019, though it is currently difficult to determine if this is the beginning of a pattern for these alert categories or simply a fluke/outlier for early 2019. Additional alert categories for Q1 and Q2 2019 included file delays, GOLD updates, and staff meetings.

Alert figures for 2019 are down overall from the previous year – the total number of alerts in Q1 2018 sat at 83, while Q1 2019 saw a total of 77 alerts posted. Meanwhile, Q2 2018 saw a spike of 94 alerts, while Q2 2019 saw only 76 alerts posted.
