CU*NorthWest, a cooperative data processing CUSO, recognized Cal Poly FCU as the 2016 “Spirit of CU*NorthWest Award” winner. The credit union received the award for their strong execution and effort to constantly demonstrate the principle of being “all about the member,” for “being an example of collaboration and cooperation”, and for having “plunged into the tools in a new way.”

The Pomona, California-based credit union has been a CU*NorthWest client since August 2011. They are $13.2 million in assets, with 2,479 members.

Introduced in 2011, the Spirit of CU*NorthWest Award is presented at the CUSO’s annual Leadership Conference. The award recognizes a client for excellence that exemplifies the following: the CUSO’s Leadership Conference theme for the year; an especially strong and vital volunteer program; demonstrates the principle of being all about the member; an innovative example of collaboration and cooperation (the highest collaborative score); has started a business in the network; shows strong execution and performance (especially in the face of adversity or despite overcoming a significant challenge); a newly converted CU that hit the ground running with adoption of CU*BASE® tools (or an existing CU that has plunged into the tools in a new way); started a new initiative that really demonstrates the credit union spirit; moves the industry in a positive direction; or that is inspirational to other CUs.
