Asterisk Intelligence concludes fourth data skills event of 2019

Asterisk Intelligence, a data analytics team at CU*Answers, successfully concluded hosting a data analytics educational event named Asterisk Intelligence Week. The 4-day event is open to users of CU*Answers’ CU*BASE® core processing software and was attended by 30 individuals from credit unions across the United States. All sessions were free and included a mixture of on-site trainings and online webinar discussion.

The first day of training was onsite at CU*Answers and focused on the analytical tools known as Dashboards within the CU*BASE core. Participants reviewed many available tools and learned some of the more advanced features of the 100+ pre-built dashboard tools available today

Two more days of on-site training focused on learning the database structure of CU*BASE as well as technical training on how to use a report builder tool. Report Builder is a data mining and query tool users can use to create a custom report. Sessions were a mix of lecture and hands-on workshop sessions.

The final and fourth day of the event included four special webinar sessions focusing on two topics. First, the web application, Analytics Booth, built as an external data warehouse for aggregating and displaying daily trending and analysis of product portfolio and financial data. Second, database administration strategies and tools available in CU*BASE, including a Data Warehouse and tools for DIY data floods.

December’s event is the final offering in the 2019 calendar year but Asterisk Intelligence does plan to offer the event four times in 2020 with dates currently scheduled for February, May, August, and December. The theme of Asterisk Intelligence’s educational and tactical efforts in 2020 is to “Prove It” with data so the event’s topics, skills, and tactics will be be strategically designed to support that goal for credit union data users and analysts.
