CU*Answers changes the way funds are released to members at ATMs

West Michigan-based cooperative CUSO CU*Answers has added a new option credit unions can choose for how holds on ATM deposits are handled: to release funds based on an aggregated total of all ATM deposits made (per membership account) in a single day. This feature, which is controlled by the Electronic Deposit Hold Group settings, allows credit unions to better mitigate the risk of a member making numerous small deposits in the same day, leaving only empty envelopes in the machine, and being able to walk away with excessive immediate-credit funds.
