CU*Answers Helps Two In-House Credit Unions Deploy New Productions Servers

CU*Answers, the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based cooperative CUSO, capped a busy year of core server technology deployments by completing two final 2014 projects recently. Both projects—a production and backup server implementation at Appleton, Wisconsin-based Prospera Credit Union and a production server replacement at Farmington, Utah-based Horizon Federal Credit Union—deployed new IBM i server technology that powers the CUSO’s CU*BASE® core data processing suite in an in-house environment.

“This past year has certainly been a busy one,” noted Scott Collins, CU*Answers’ Vice President that manages its in-house sales operation. “Our teams have deployed a combination of eight production and high availability backup servers over the past seven months alone, making it one of their busiest technology upgrade periods in the past decade. Since each project involved migrating an installed production environment to a new IBM Power® server, it took a well-coordinated effort by the credit union team and ours to complete each without disruption. I am happy to report that each was smooth and successful.”

Collins noted that the CUSO’s in-house server deployment team would take “a little time off the road during the holidays before hitting the road early in January for their next set of projects.”
