CU*Answers, the 100% credit union-owned cooperative based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, announced that it has recently added another credit union to its ownership ranks. Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan-based Chippewa County Credit Union has purchased 200 shares. This addition means that over 140 credit unions are equal owners of the cooperative.

Scott Collins, Executive Vice President of National Sales and Marketplace Relationships at CU*Answers, said: “We were very excited to receive word from CEO Connie Toensing and the Board of Chippewa County CU, which approved an investment in our cooperative. Based on my conversations with Connie recently, I know that they share our excitement as well, and I have no doubt that the credit union will be an active participant with their peer owners. We look forward to a long and successful future.”

Chippewa County CU is prepping for a June 2021 conversion to CU*Answers’ CU*BASE core processing platform.
