CU*Answers, the 100% credit union-owned, data processing CUSO, recently determined the sixth month statistics for alert items posted between July 1 and December 31 of 2020. In total, CU*Answers posted 126 alert items – 63 of these were posted in Q3 and another 63 were posted in Q4.
Breaking these figured down month-by-month, July saw 19 alerts posted, August saw 21 alerts, September saw 23 alerts, October saw 16 alerts, November saw 24 alerts, and December closed out the year with 23 alerts. This brought the average send rate for the second half of the year to 21 alerts per month (with quarterly averages also sitting at 21 alerts per month in Q3 and Q4). These alert totals only account for alerts being posted by CU*Answers and do not account for any alerts posted by CU*SOUTH, CU*NorthWest, or any Xtend Fraud Alerts.
For both Q3 and Q4 2020, instances of Scheduled Maintenance and Unexpected Issues within the network represented the largest portion of alerts posted. Additional categories included Connectivity Interruptions, File Delays, Tax Information, GOLD Updates, Rollover Updates and General Info (all-purpose) alerts. Of note in Q3 and Q4 was a decrease in General Info alerts, which saw a significant decrease in volume from the first half of the 2020 calendar year.
Alert figures for 2020 saw an overall decrease from the previous year – the total number of alerts posted in Q3 2020 was 63, down from 83 alerts in Q3 2019. Q4 2020 also saw 63 alerts posted, down from 88 alerts posted in Q4 2019.
