CU*Answers, the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based cooperative CUSO, announced that two credit unions have purchased ownership shares in the company. Santa Clara, California-based Mission City Credit Union and Lansing, Michigan-based Gabriels Community Credit Union became the CUSO’s 137th and 138th shareholders respectively. Per CU*Answers’ cooperative bylaws, each credit union owner carries a block of 200 shares.
“We are very excited to welcome both Gabriels Community and Mission City to the ownership ranks,” said Scott Collins, EVP of National Sales and Marketplace Development for CU*Answers. “Gabriels Community has been leveraging our core data processing suite as a customer for several years, and when they contacted us about buying into the cooperative and becoming a long-term partner, it goes without saying that we were very happy.”
“On the flip side, even though they will not be converting to our core until this fall, our friends at Mission City wanted to join our ownership ranks even before they started leveraging the toolset,” Collins continued. “On behalf of the board of directors and management of CU*Answers, I want to welcome both partners to the cooperative family.”
