Liberty Lake-based core data processor, CU*NorthWest, announced that Shell Western States FCU of Martinez, CA successfully converted to the CU*BASE data processing system in November 2020. The credit union represents over 3,000 members and $95 million in assets.
Shell Western States FCU was chartered in April of 1947. They are able to offer members new and improved services through CU*NorthWest including It’s Me 247 Online Banking, mobile banking, and electronic document storage. Credit union staff will have access to a wide variety of tracking and reporting dashboards as part of the comprehensive data processing system, allowing them to better serve existing members.
CEO, Rod Garza stated that “We chose CU*Northwest because they saw the world as a credit union would. They convinced us early of their true commitment to the ideal of credit unions helping credit unions. In this period of high competition, hostile environment, and hot technology advancement member expectations are a special and ever-changing challenge. CU Northwest, as a CUSO, offered us not only a voice in system development but also an invaluable environment of effective collaboration with others in the industry. This allows us the ability to compete while evolving to meet whatever changing need our membership requires. This was a strategic direction that we felt was so important that we left our FISERV contract 18 months early.”
Chief Operating and Compliance Officer MJ Bacani said “it was obvious from the start that CU Northwest staff were anxious to take member service one step further to create an environment of community. It is exciting, and rare, to see collaboration and comradeship at this level ”.
Shell Western States FCU represents the 24th California-based credit union selecting CU*NorthWest as their partner for core processing services. CU*NorthWest and its owners are happy to welcome CEO Rod Garza and Shell Western States FCU to their community.
