CUSOs Help Partner Launch Redundancy Project

CU*Answers, Inc., a Grand Rapids, Michigan-based cooperative CUSO, and Site Four, LLC, a Yankton, South Dakota-based CUSO, announced recently that they have partnered together to deploy a new core processing redundancy solution for one of their owning credit unions – Falmouth, Maine-based Cumberland County Federal Credit Union (CCFCU).  Upon completion, CCFCU will have a mirrored copy of their Maine core production server located at Site Four’s South Dakota facility as the next step in their business resiliency strategy.  CU*Answers technical teams will work closely with both partners to establish data replication between the two servers and perform remote monitoring of the synchronization on an ongoing basis.

According to CU*Answers Vice President Scott Collins, the project is a modification of similar projects that CU*Answers has deployed for nearly all of their self-processing credit unions.  “For the past 7 years we have worked closely with our in-house customer-owners to deploy high availability solutions,” says Collins, “and this project is another exciting step for our cuasterisk.com (www.cuasterisk.com) network.  Not only does it help CCFCU take an important step for their business recovery strategy, it also adds a fourth data center option for our partners to choose from for their hot site.  I commend both the CCFCU and Site Four leadership teams for taking this important step for all of us.”

Collins also noted that “CCFCU has deployed the CU*Answers CU*BASE® core data processing suite in a high availability environment on an IBM POWER7 server pair running the IBMi operating system, the platform that we feel is the most secure and reliable in the industry.”
