Cooperative CUSO CU*NorthWest announced that Larry Hayes will serve as the organization’s new CEO, effective October 18, 2021. Hayes, currently the President of eCU Technology, brings over twenty years of credit union experience to the core data processor. “When I looked at CU*NorthWest, I saw an organization with an excellent track record and an engaged client base that wants to work towards joint success,” said Hayes. “I’m eager to get started and to inspire our owners and clients to continue building on the opportunities cooperatives create.”
As President of eCU Technology, Hayes led the organization in providing account opening and loan application solutions for credit unions. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operations Officer of Georgia Credit Union Affiliates and President/CEO of CU Holding Company, LLC.
“Larry’s experience in running CUSOs and for-profit businesses on behalf of credit unions made him a very attractive candidate for the position,” said Chuck Papenfus, CU*NorthWest board chair and CEO of Inland Valley Federal Credit Union. “More than that though, he understands and deeply respects the cooperative nature of our organization, and the way success comes from developing close relationships with the credit unions we serve.”
Hayes will be joining CU*NorthWest just before the CUSO’s Leadership Conference on October 24-25. “It will be a great opportunity to meet the credit unions and people I work for,” he added. “The conference will give us a chance to introduce ourselves, but then put our heads down and focus on the work ahead of us, generating the kind of excitement that only comes from creating something great with your peers.”
