CU*NorthWest, a cooperative data processing CUSO, recognized South Bay Credit Union as the 2015 “Spirit of CU*NorthWest Award” winner. The credit union received the award for their strong execution and effort to constantly demonstrate the principle of being “all about the member,” and for being an inspiration to their credit union peers.

“We are always looking to the future to see what we can offer to our members.” Jen Oliver, CEO of South Bay Credit Union said. “We are part of a community and want others, whether members or peers, to feel that way as well”.

The Redondo Beach, California-based South Bay has been a CU*NorthWest customer and owner for four years.  It has $80.5 million in assets and 7,234 members.

Introduced in 2012, the Spirit of CU*NorthWest Award is presented at the annual Leadership Conference. Additional criteria for award recipients can range from examples of collaboration and cooperation, exemplifying the Leadership Conference theme, a strong volunteer program, to being “all about the member”.
